MOONTYPE STUCK ON YOU

Moontype describe their music as "earthy and earnest", "sometimes hard, sometimes soft, always sincere purveyor of poppy liquid weirdness". Inspired by artists like Adrianne Lenker and Gillian Welch, Margaret McCarthy recorded the first EP bass tunes at home, then moved to Chicago to join bandmates Ben Cruz and Emerson Hunton. They've released a new single, 'Stuck On You', lifted from their forthcoming record From Bodies of Water. The new single is out alongside a hand-drawn animated video. The song itself is jaunty and uplifting, with country-twanged guitar picking and a shuffly drum beat. Margaret's vocals are certainly earnest and organic; she sings without stretching or straining, and words flow like a moving river. Bodies of Water is out April 2nd on Born Yesterday Records - for now, check out 'Stuck On You'. -Ellie Rose-Davies
